We interrupt this blog …

for an important announcement.

You know all those baby gifts I've been knitting lately? And that mystery project I finished in January? We've been waiting to hear and got the news today: My son and his wife are having a girl! She's due this summer.

We now return to your normal health-and-fitness programming.

Which seems, suddenly, so trivial.

Congratulations!

(And I'm Nancy L. from Blacksburg, btw. I've lost 40lbs on ww this year, so I'm enjoying catching up with your adventures. Plus I read YOAD in January and am also playing with some of their ideas.)

Steel cut oats: the Kroger here carries three kinds. Sounds like you won't need them any time soon, but for future reference:

McCann's are with the "international" foods in the British/Irish section. Bob's Red Mill is in the health foods but not with the other Bob's products; it's with the cereal. And quaker just introduced steel-cut oats, which are with the regular cereal.

I love mine made in the crockpot; they reheat well enough. I froze some cooked oatmeal this weekend, and I'll let you know how they do once defrosted.

Congrats to you and your family! Not really trivial - you do want to be able to keep up with and do things with your granddaughter, right? My boss has his first grnadkid, and it's inspired him to drop a few pounds - he wants to be around for this kid.
